“Now I know that menstruation is a normal part of life and that it does not change anything,” Rafiki said. “More training will help men to understand that girls need help and support while they are menstruating … and it will help end the isolation of girls who are menstruating.”
Learning about her period changed Alice’s life, and has helped her find direction for her future – she is now training to become a laboratory technician in a health centre; a job which she knows will help support more women.
“I want to make a difference for my family and for my local community. It’s great what this project has done, and it has proven that I am someone who can make things happen.”
Donate now and help support women like Alice to lead change in their communities.
